WHILE I AM WAITING

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint”.

Isaiah 40 vs 31

I don’t like to wait….or didn’t like to.

I am not sure if there is any other person who feels that way. It used to feel like waiting was a total waste of time until I learned otherwise. We all wait, you see, just for different reasons and over differing length of time. But in the end, waiting is engraved in every portion of our daily lives, including and most especially, in our walk with God.

God uses the waiting period to prune, prepare and position us

Waiting simply means that there is an expectation for something to happen

The body uses the nine months of pregnancy to prepare physically and physiologically for the birth and nourishment of a baby.

That’s what a waiting season does for us. When God sends His word, It’s in this season that we align with God to prepare us for the promises that He already has established for us.

Sometimes we extend our seasons of waiting because we have no understanding of what it means to wait or whom we are waiting upon. And when not well utilized, the waiting period won’t birth the purpose that it was initially assigned for.

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength

As someone who is still waiting on God for many promises, i can say that it can be an unpleasant season. But, if you truly wait on God by trusting His word, even when it is hard, you feel Him giving you strength to continue. You may not be able to connect all the dots, or you may even go from the palace to prison like Joseph, but there will be a certainty that is sponsored and strengthened by God.

The certainty that it is impossible for God to lie.The certainty that if God said that Joseph’s family will bow down to him, then they will, no matter how long it may take.

If you are going to wait anyway, why not wait well?, trusting that He is able to bring to pass all His promises.

Thank you for beautifully articulating this!

“there will be a certainty that is sponsored and strengthened by God. ”

    This resonates deeply.

    Thank you so much 😭
