MY ALABASTER BOX
She should not have broken that ! The poor would have been fed with the sale instead— Judas muttered under his breath.
With the financial implication attached to every broken piece of the Alabaster Box, Iscariot could not stop seeing that act as a token of wastage.
All because, he focused too much on the expensive oil that was dripping and lost sight on the recipient of the Honour— JESUS.
In light of this, I have figured that we all have an “Alabaster Box” that we must surrender to Jesus. Our most prized asset, which is our HEART.
PROVERBS 23:26 My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways.
What Abraham surrendered was his heart the moment he let Isaac go, because, the Bible affirmed how much he loved him.
GENESIS 22:2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.
God’s response to Abraham’s Obedience shows that He was never interested particularly in Isaac in the First place, but to ascertain Abraham’s state of heart have not been compromised.
Whenever God sees that there is nothing you can’t surrender to His Lordship, there is absolutely nothing He won’t wholeheartedly give you !
Search through your heart today and sincerely evaluate if an ALABASTER BOX isn’t sitting on the throne.
May God grant us the grace to continue to lay our all at his feet
Amen sir
